Cloning M.2 drive on laptop...

New laptop has a 128GB M.2 drive, alongside a 500GB SSD. Going to upgrade the M.2 drive in the not-too-distant future, quetion is, can I clone the drive, or is it easier to just start a fresh install?

Clone it onto the 500GB SSD, swap out the M2 then clone it back. Just did the same with a laptop sat behind me.

Other option is to purchase an M2 Caddy.

Beware of M.2 caddies though, most are M.2 SATA rather than M.2 PCIE, for obvious reasons so if your existing M.2 is PCIE, it will not work in an M.2 caddy.
