Coming out in September from Luc Besson, the Writer/Director of La Femme Nikita - the trailer looks good! What do you reckon? I'm quite enjoying this little wave of female vengeance/assassin movies lately - of course there was the ultimate Kill Bill, and we've since seen Hanna (which I've yet to watch), Salt, and now Colombiana.
This is coming out right off the back of Salt, so I'm fairly certain there'll be a lot of eye-rolling at yet another "one of those" movies &/or "cashing in on Salt" etc., but why not? The industry has always been fairly set on male-dominated roles for this type of film - I'd say in the last decade or so we've seen a change to that kind of typecasting with female-dominated roles gradually coming more into the mainstream.
