    I have a Macbook Pro running OS X 10.7.5
I have an external HDD from a couple of years ago that I used with my PC that I want to use with the Mac now. Are these file formats incompatible? What do I need to do?

Answer...... Format it in FAT32 as Windows and OS X can read and write to it/from it.

If you want to access the files that are on there and your Mac, download Tuxera NTFS and you will be able to read/write to it as it is.
