Fine folk of OC land, please can you help a damsel in distress- my sister :D
She has a 9900k, 2080ti all on custom water loop but it has been leaking constantly recently and she is wanting to go back to air for both cpu & GPU
Motherboard is Asus Maximus XI formula with 4 sticks of Corsair Vengence RGB ram sticks and want a nice beefy air cooler as it is oc to 5GHZ
Would a Noctua NH-D15 fit her moboo & ram as case is a Corsair 680x and has enouugh height clearence for one
Not really looking for an AIO at this time as want to go caveman:D
Thx for your help in this

Depends on how tall the ram is , is it low profile ?

The NH-D15 provides 64mm clearance for tall memory heatsinks in single fan mode, making it compatible with most high end RAM modules on the market. In dual fan mode, the NH-D15 should be used with standard height RAM (up to 32mm). Please note: In chassis with more than 165mm CPU cooler clearance, the front fan can be moved upwards to make room for memory modules taller than 32mm.

The ALPENFOHN BROCKEN 3 BLACK EDITION CPU COOLER DUAL FAN EDITION - 140MM
Has 100% ram compatibility.

Just realised you have corsair vengeance rgb if it's 51mm tall

Quick scaling of clearances on Asus Maximus XI Formula shows about 90.7mm center CPU to near side of PCIe X16 and about 69mm to near side of x1.
There is about 49mm center CPU to near side of RAM sockets, so not many coolers with front fan will fit. Scythe Fuma 2 is 50mm center CPU to front of fan so might fit. Easiest way to be sure is measure center CPU to near side of RAM an if you have 50mm it fits.

Thermalright Macho will clear, but OcUK don't sell them.
out
Really need to know what case is to be able to say for sure what coolers will fit.

case is still the Corsair 680x as stated in original posting :D
Noctua should fit as is 67.5mm from centre- 93.5mm with fan and with low profile ram it should fit as only 26.25mm

Is the PC overclocked? I mean a slightly smaller cooler may well do the job for her. The 9700K is not a particularly hot CPU.

Corsair 680x has 180mm CPU clearance so about 185mm for RAM with fan over it. D15 will fit fine. I would go D15S for added clearance in future build .. so any of a number of coolers cooling as well as D15 but costing significantly less .. Like Scythe Fuma 2 for £47.99 .. was in stock yesterday but sold out now. :(

Maybe contact OcUK and see if one is hiding, and if not when more will be in stock.
