Hello,

I’ve got a CROSSHAIR VI HERO (x370) I’ve decided to keep due to the limited real-world FPS difference in PCIe 4 vs PCIe 3 (I’ll probably upgrade to a 3080/ 3070, but from what I read I won’t notice a difference due to PCIe 4 vs PCIe 3). However, I would like another NVME drive, with this in mind what adapter and NVME drive would you recommend, it’ll be used mainly as a scratch drive / working drive for Premier Pro / After Effects.

(specs in sig)

Cheers,

Yeah, don't blame you. That's still a solid board and I heard that it might get Zen3 support.

You'll have to make a choice between using the gen 2 lanes on the chipset for reduced storage performance or using cpu lanes and dropping your lanes to the GPU to x8.

I'd recommend the Asus Hyper M.2 x4. But I don't think it'd matter too much.
