Curved slats on bed keep popping out!

I recently purchased a new bed, the slats are wooden and curved upwards.

As soon as a little bit of weight is applied on to the bed, the middle slats just collapse.

Does anyone know how I can fix this?

is it put together right?
if so i would be straight back onto the retailer as your probably not the first with the problem

Make sure the slats are anchored at the foot and head of the bed (usually there's a little notch that keeps them in place and they're held together with some fabric to keep them taught).

If they can slide around and one side moves while the other doesn't, then Pythagorus tells us that the slats will no longer be long enough to reach across!

Cheers so far guys,

There wasn't really much to assemble though. Just 4 bolts, 2 for the top side that the sides attach to, and 2 the other end.

Maybe I need to make sure they're REALLY tight?

Check that all the slats are still there, some may have been removed to make roof supports for an escape tunnel.

Centre the slats and duct tape in place, the weight is causing them to slide across and fall out.

One thing the instructions didn't say is which way the slats go. I just assumed they should be put in the curved upwards position because all the other beds I've seen are this way?

Should I try and turn them over?

Or should I just try to duct tape them in place?

You could fix them either side with a screw or something, that should help.

I'm not sure how that would work though; the black things that hold them into place are plastic.

Ok, so I have the position right then.

Weird, wonder what could be causing it. It's not a weight issue, my brother is tiny and even his weight causes the slats to pop out.
