Well that's exactly my specs too although the 6700K is at 4.4GHz. It will be interesting to see the CPU utilisation vs GPU though. I would bet good money that our CPUs will power through no problems and GPU is where the dollars count and since the game uses DLSS2.0, that's an instant 20+ FPS gain right there with no visual quality loss that is noticeable.

Win win for us really.

DLSS2.0 is a truly neat bit of tech. I’ve caught a few YouTube videos discussing it and it looks and sounds great.

The wife and I were chatting about this, having seen the performance AND picture quality that Control had with DLSS 2.0, I can understand their input for the lower recommended suggestions now.

I do think they are aiming a little low, but if it uses DLSS 2.0 then we will be pleasantly surprised, at least I hope.

Recommended Specs
  • Windows 10 with DX12 (64-bit)

Even pretty old computers should be able to run Cyberpunk 2077 at its most basic settings, and you can get what CD Projekt Red considers the best general experience from the game with what is still a pretty inexpensive rig. As TomsHardware notes, CDPR is a little light on the information here. The first set of specs are for “Low settings and 1080p gaming” while the second are for “high and 1080p.” That doesn’t mention anything about frame rate for example.

But Raytracing
There’s also the fact that CDPR and Nvidia have touted Cyberpunk 2077 as a posterchild for raytracing for quite some time now. It seems strange, then, that the developer would recommend playing the game with a GTX card. CDPR could come out later with a set of “Best Quality” requirements that lay out what CPU and GPU you’ll want for the premium experience. This seems like something the company would release after AMD reveals its next generation of GPUs, which will feature raytracing for the first time.

The real recommended specs for the designer experience will likely involve an RTX 30-series card or AMD RX 6000-series card, a 10th-Gen Intel Core-i7 or AMD Ryzen 9 Zen 3 CPU, at least 16 GB of RAM, and maybe even an NVMe SSD if you really want to be careful.

Looks great! I'm very excited for this, I was urging to get a 3090 for it, but after seeing all the hoohah around that, I'll stick to my 2080 ti and use DLSS 2.0 which was great in Control!

They threw up a cutscene with the Japanese audio on twitter recently, and it seemed they're putting a lot of effort into localisations ... now while I wouldn't be down for that on a first playthrough, for a second it might be kinda cool to use the Japanese audio with English subs, I saw a few comments saying the same so maybe they'll make it an option.

I like the idea of mix between Chinese and English like in Firefly, I wonder if anyone would mod it? Just splice in Chinese audio clips and cut out English ones... Can't imagine it being too tough.

Can see this being the benchmark game for many years to come. Not because it's hard to run but because it's actually really well optimised and looks amazing at the same time. The only game to date that looks better than the original game media published years prior too lol.

Not that excited for it to be honest, can't quite make out what the game is meant to be. I'm sure once I get it in a sale in a couple years I'll be blown away by it but the latest gameplay trailers particularly the hand to hand combat looks a bit odd. Rather have Witcher 4. If i had a beastly pc now that could play it at max settings then i would probably get it on release. Not a graphics snob, but for this type of game that wants to dazzle you with all its cool graphic features i think it will add to the immersion.

Once the reviews are out, you will end up understanding, drooling and wetting yourself with excitement ;)

You will want to replay the game once the expansions are out anyway, try different class and playstyle.

Your probably right, might get it for Xmas, play it at settings that my 6700k and 1080 hybrid can cope at, within reason if I can't play at high settings with no raytracing on then I'll put it in my back catalogue until I can afford a new setup.
