I couldn't wait another week for the final :o

I grabbed the alternate install CD image because the text mode install is familiar from Breezy and also because I read about some problems with the GUI "LIVE CD" install method ( like GRUB fubaring the hard disk  ).

I was blown away by the install speed which is much quicker than Breezy. Started at 1126 hrs, removed the CD for the one and only reboot ( eat your heart out Windows :p ), and was at the desktop by 1145 hrs.

Now all I need to do is drop to the command line and compile the driver for my Conexant PCI ADSL modem :D ( I dream of the day when PPP/PPPOA/PPPOE just works out of the box )

I am downloading the latest Dapper candidate as I write. I'll post back how I got on a little later although if the past is anything to go by Ubuntu never fails to impress. :)
