I have 3gb of 1600mhz dominator, I won't shot of. I'm going to upgrade my os soon so I wont more then 3gbs of dominator, but I can't get a replacements an till I have more money.

should I ebay or keep as a back up?
if I keep as backup I will end up with a lower budget, and still wont to stick with corsairs dominator, but should I go 2nd hand for a 6gb kit?

whats the 2nd hand market like for ddr3?
should I risk 2nd hand parts?

I wouldn't bother keeping your existing 3x1GB sticks as backup. Sell them, they're not going to do much in your drawer.

Providing the seller is reputable and can prove that the RAM is fully functioning and stable, it shouldn't be a problem buying 2nd hand. You'll just have to use your own judgement really.

Dominator is expensive stuff. If you're on a budget, why not consider other brands like OCZ or G.Skill? They'll work and perform just as well and will save you some money.

yeah I guess, I was hoping to keep to the same because it go's well with the look of my rig, but I could just go for a more budget worthy brand.

if it was down to you, would you go from dominater to G.Skill or OCZ?
