Looking at 4GB (2x2) of DDR3 memory to run in Dual-Channel on an AM3 board (955BE CPU). The CPU memory controller supports 1333Mhz but the MoBo says that it allows 1666MHz as Overclock. 1 - Does this mean that I can use 1600MHz RAM even the CPU controller only supports 1333? 2 - Assuming I can, what would be best 1333 at CL6 or 1600 at CL8? 3 - Assuming the 1333 at CL6 is better would I be better off just buying 1333 RAM or buying 1600 RAM (in the hope that when I slow it down I can reduce the CL). Cheers, Nigel
Thanks, that's one question sorted. So, Bandwidth vs Latency I read some reviews and in many cases DDR3 1600 RAM with CL9 is lagging behind DD2 800 RAM with CL5. So I was wondering which of these would be faster 1600 running at CL8 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-042-GS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387 or 1333 running at CL6 http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-024-PA&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1387 Cheers, Nigel
