Folks
I have a Dell pc with either a faulty motherboard and/or cpu.
There's lot of stuff in there I'd like to put into another pc,
so what I'd like is someone to recommend a motherboard/cpu which I can load the other components on.

The pc is a Dell XPS 8930

Processor 8th generation Intel Core i3/i5/i5k//i7/i7k
Processor is an i7 ( I think)
Chipset : Intel Z370
Motherboard: Dell IPCFL-VM
RAM: 16gb (2x8) SKHynix 2666V DDR4
Graphics Card: Full size GTX 1060
the SSD is 'onboard': PCIe NVME 256gb

All other components apart from the mboard/cpu have been tested and are fine.

I realise I may need to get another case and psu as as well.

Pretty much any socket 1151 board that fits whatever case you plan to use. A Z370 board would be ideal if the CPU is an unlocked K version.

The shop seems to no longer stock Z370 boards. Z390 might be an option depending if your 8th gen CPU is support, though I’d probably look around for a Z370 board.

If you have a 8700/8700K then I wouldn't buy the lowest end boards (H310), but if Z370/390 is unavailable then a decent B360 or B365 would be alright.

MSI's B365 Mortar is available on offer (new) for approx £50.
