Do old 12 month x box live gold cards work with the 360 100%?

    anyone know if you can put a 12 month code in on xbox.com without doing it through the 360?

    ok i have just realised something...

    at uni i have a router and my 360 connects to live from my pc using a cat 5 cable.

    i have just tried the same here at home, but i dont have a router, just a dsl modem that connects via dialup box and is classed as a dial up connection.

    Can i get the 360 to work through a direct connection to the dsl modem or through my pc like uni or am i screwed?
