Does encrypting SSD's use up write cycles?

Hi there, question as title,

I have win 7 ultimate and it comes with bitlocker so I thought I may as well use it, is there any disadvantage to encrypting my main (SSD) drive? does it use write cycles to decrypt everytime I boot once it is encrypted? (if that makes sense)

I'd have thought it would use up cycles, but enough so that you would notice
