Currently living in rented accommodation, had a gas review a few weeks ago and the old timer switch was needing replaced due to dodgy switches. The new 1 is the Drayton lp111 however when the guy was installing it he found a grey wire from the old 1 and asked if there was a thermostat in the flat, which there wasn't , so he didn't wire it into the new back plate. Now on the new device I cant seem to set the temperature like I could in the old programmable device. The question, is it safe to have my heating on if I cant set the temperature as the combi-boiler I've been told is pretty old, it does have a dial on it which is set to about halfway( no numbers just a broken semi circle of lines getting thicker ) but I thought that was for hot water.
