Currently got an old n66 router and use BT mesh for Wi-fi. I’m currently getting about 40mbs on my Vodafone unlimited plan. Get 55mbs with fttc connection. Just seeing what advice you would recommend to combine the 2. I’ve seen speedify and just wondering if anyone else does the same?

Almost certainly not worth it. 55 Mbps VDSL is sufficient for most things even if you might occasionally have to wait a bit longer for large downloads.
This keeps cropping up as an idea and most people do eventually come to the (correct IMO) conclusion that it's too expensive and complicated for the minimal gains you might get.
