    hi
i`m trying to burn some photos to a blank dvd so it can be played in an ordinary household dvd player. up to now all i`ve been able to make are coasters ! i have used dvd -r and dvd +r and neither will play in the dvd.
i wanted to make a slide show of them on dvd but am getting nowhere.
i`ve been using ashampoo and windows media player to burn them and they play fine on the pc dvd player but not on stand alone dvd player.
could anyone give me some tips on what format i should be using and possibly a few suggestions of what software would be useful?

What speed are you burning at and how old is the player?

    Is that an old player?

You might want to try burning at the lowest possible speed.

Also some players support just playback from jpegs, otherwise you have to make the slideshow into the DVD movie format, which I think windows movie maker and maybe nero and things can do. Not sure about the prog you're using.
