DVD to Avi or Mpeg?

    Hi All,

    My old man has bought a new video cam. DVD thingy. Now how do I convery the DVD from the Vob files to smaller Avi or Mpeg files?
    Any help would be great!

    Virtual dub, convert the video to x.264 and audio to ogg for maximum compression.

    DrDivx is pretty good too, never had an avi come out of that with the sound out of sync.

    use dvd decrypter in ifo mode (go into options and turn file size limit to none)

    then use autogk to convert the videos, use xvid

    Thanks guys, will give it s shot. I don't think WinAVI does it?
