Using Nero Burning Rom 6 and I burn 2 dvds at 8x, but the verification is only done at 1x.

Is there a way to speed up the verification process?

I think a lot of programs do the verification at 1x. It's because as well as reading the data back, it has to do a bit for bit comparison with the master data. If the read was faster it wouldn't actually gain anything and may involve re-seeking of the read head.
