I have personally used them but found them to be a bit expensive especially their postage costs for even the smallest item.

It also depends what post he has setup - if he took it to the post office Thurs then it would sit there most of the day picked up and taken to a sorting office Thurs night. If you paid for next day they you probably have some beef but normal RM services means 2-3 days normally - it'll arrive early this week.
