Hi, I'm a complete noob at overclocking and would like some help from you experienced people.
I've managed a slight overclock of 2.7GHZ by increasing the fsb to 300 (memory is than at 900) and everything else set on auto but can't seem to get any higher
My memory is Geil PC6400 800mhz and is coupled with the above E6600 and P5b mobo with a stock cooler. Temps 34deg idle and 50 deg under load so would probably want a better cooler to help out a bit.
What I'm really asking is if some one who has a similar set up could give me their setting to try and recomend a good cooler. I have a Antec P180 so the airflow in my case is pretty good.
There's so many things I can change in the bios I don't want to play and cause possible damage to the components without a little guidence.
any help would be appreciated as I've seen many threads stressing how easy it is to get to 3.2GHz with these chips yet I'm struggling to get past 2.7Ghz
