Wonderful. Finally managed to buy Mass Effect, and now it just crashes on loading. Reinstalled, verified files, yada yada yada.

You're running it as Administrator, aren't you? (Or Steam itself as Admin.)

Cant truly get into mass effect yet. Done about 3 hours worth of missions and stuff but i kinda hate the combat lol. The weapons seem like spud guns and arent really satisfying

It took me three attempts before it suddenly "clicked" and then I went on to finish it and discovered it was one of the greatest games I've ever played.

That would be why then.. Just would have thought that if you could buy a game from their shop then you could activate a retail key.

I grabbed Mass Effect the other day, had problems whatsoever and really like it, pretty game feels good thus far.

Well all I can say is I'm glad I bought Mass Effect, it's proving to be a great game and looks gorgeous on full whack! A bit like a modern Deus Ex, which is quite the accolade.
