Most over rated car ever. £15k for a K reg Escort that does 0-60 in about the time it takes an Audi A4 3.0 diesel?

    Great.

Somehow, I don't think it would be your cup of tea even if it did 250mph and 0-60 in 2 seconds. ;)

Supposed to handle tremendously well, but a bit down on power today. I'm pretty sure it's easy to get more power if you so desired, but most owners will want one because they have a soft spot for them, more than the speed etc, especially given their price. Definite heart over head purchase.

    Definite classic/future classic.

Would be a difficult toss up between one and a Lancia Delta Evo2 though :D ... if ever I have £20k to throw away.

    Agree 100%

IMO in a few years we will look back at the Mk1 Focus RS in the same light.

How many Cossie's around do you think have a stock engine? Part of the appeal is how easy it is to get silly power out of them.

Never been a fan of Escort Cossies.

I always liked the Sierra Cosworth saloon better.

My dad had one in '99 for a few years before he sold it, apparently it started rusting, don't know if that was an issue with these cars or not, I was only 11 at the time so no pics unfortunately. Numberplates last 3 letters were COS, think it was something like P11 COS, in Black with gold OZ alloys. :)

Local nutter/drives a stickered up, bashed, ill sounding escort cossie, only one in gib. Crying shame and waste. Used to love these when I was a teen, back when they ran then in the WRC.

Pretty much my favourite car ever. Flirted with buying one briefly, but you probably couldnt bring yourself to drive any of the examples that are actually worth owning.

Actually yes, the A5 3.0 TDI is 5.9 to 60, but stock Escort Cosworths are not under 6 seconds to 60.

Infact, from the Autocar roadtest back in the mid 90's a BMW 528i SE is just one tenth of a second slower to 100mph than a stock Escort Cosworth...
