Anyway now that the benchmarks and reviews are out, we can see that as some of us expected, the 11900K is indeed faster than anything from AMD in the majority of games.
Have you got some links to reviews to back this up, i have seen only the opposite so far

See for instance:

It doesn't win everything but it wins more than AMD. And this is early BIOS and microcode - further gains are likely in the short term.

How many games is that ? Almost feels like it's cherry picked , you should base it over bigger selection

Just few here but plenty more reviews you can find

Ok fair play you showed me a review but a couple points. Even when winning its only by a couple frames, does 2-4 frames really make forking out £550-£600 for an 8 core when the 5800X is £429 or even previous gen Intel chips have similar scores. Based on just about every other review i wonder why these particular few games tested were used, they seem very cherry picked, in comparison Hardware unboxed had the 11900 7% behind 5800x (i think it was hardware unboxed). One last thing in your statement you said teh 11900K beats AMD in the majority of games, there was what 7 games in that list, not really a mojority, It is also telling that the hexus review ended with this final statement

"As it is, this Frankenstein range, headlined by the Core i9-11900K, clinging on to the ageing 14nm process, fails to impress."

Nothing in this review is more than 1% either way between Rocket Lake and Zen 3, why do you think that is, its really difficult to think you believe anything you say with this, alternatively its something that i can't say without getting banned from the forum, nice try... but have you no self respect?

Look at the power usage and cost of it surely it should be performing better ? I really find it hard to find what it actually has going for it

Intel should have skipped i9 this gen and just named it i7
They priced it to the 5900x lol

  • "Slightly faster gaming fps than AMD"
It's fastest for most gaming. That all I care about. And thats on new Intel microcode and BIOS vs mature on AMD, so the gap will grow a bit more too.

This says otherwise 10 game average are you even watching the links I sent I can send more . also it will be hard to notice the difference playing the games but you forgot to add the fact how much more power it uses and how much they are charging for it , they are charging for it same as 5900x which is 12 core chip and it cant even compete with 5800x which is cheaper and uses less power and 10900k which costs less and has 2 more cores

are they not charging like £50 more than they did on 10900k on release while taking away 2 cores and increasing power consumption ? and barely any better ? surely cant defend that

Cheers mate. Understand AMD is the popular choice, and the 5800X makes more sense for most people.

I've got my reasons to go Intel. It's related to the games I play, plus I absolutely required a motherboard with 4 M.2 slots.

And have you checked how many of these M.2 slots will be disabled when you put your gpu in you pcie or if your gpu won't be slowed down? there is only 20 lanes and something has to give I am afraid.

It's the all the gear and no idea attitude, don't try and talk actual sense, you'll just get made up nonsense back. I tried explaining the way PCI-E works, but he can't accept it.

Loving the siege warfare on here. There are people asking why intel didn’t just bin the i9 this year and just place the i7 against the 5800x, and people like Richto, Dave and others are the answers and examples. There are people that are so blinkered to either team red, blue or green that will line up waving cash with pants down and bent over with blindfolds on, that will take anything that’s given and call it the next best new thing.

Nobody should have loyalty to any company you think they care about you

Intel have priced the i9 11900k same as 5900x the 12 core 5900x annihilates it in multi workloads and beats it overall In games while using less power think about that

I know the 5900x is hard to find but I rather still not buy the intel chip still have other better options

Some people can’t see that we have been shafted far too long by intel and still line up to be shafted
