    Hi folks.

Currently looking at getting a new webcam, and the eyetoy keeps coming up as great value. Does anyone know what support is like in Linux? The Playstation2Linux project have a driver, but I'm not sure if I can use that on my AMD64 rig.

Found the following interesting blog posting regarding getting an eyetoy up and running on linux:

edit: If you're thinking of getting the eyetoy for use under linux I wouldnt recommend it due to it outputting a stream of individual JPEG images rather than a video stream.

Hmm, that actually sound familiar to what my current camera (logitech quickcam messenger) is giving me.

Need to be careful here then. I need a camera that will work well under both Linux & Doze that outputs a video stream and not jpegs. Cant be that hard....
