The Ledge Beyond The Edge
I assume Lil' Jon's
'To the windows to tha walls
Till the sweat drips from my *****' wouldnt be taken seriously, although i think its the funniest lyrics ever lol

Probably Running to stand still - U2 or
Civil - War - Guns and roses

Look at your young men fighting
Look at your women crying
Look at your young men dying
The way they've always done before

Look at the hate we're breeding
Look at the fear we're feeding
Look at the lives we're leading
The way we've always done before

My hands are tied
The billions shift from side to side
And the wars go on with brainwashed pride
For the love of God and our human rights
And all these things are swept aside
By bloody hands time can't deny
And are washed away by your genocide
And history hides the lies of our civil wars

D'you wear a black armband
When they shot the man
Who said "Peace could last forever"
And in my first memories
They shot Kennedy
I went numb when I learned to see
So I never fell for Vietnam
We got the wall of D.C. to remind us all
That you can't trust freedom
When it's not in your hands
When everybody's fightin'
For their promised land

And
I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war

Look at the shoes your filling
Look at the blood we're spilling
Look at the world we're killing
The way we've always done before
Look in the doubt we've wallowed
Look at the leaders we've followed
Look at the lies we've swallowed
And I don't want to hear no more

My hands are tied
For all I've seen has changed my mind
But still the wars go on as the years go by
With no love of God or human rights
'Cause all these dreams are swept aside
By bloody hands of the hypnotized
Who carry the cross of homicide
And history bears the scars of our civil wars

"We practice selective annihilation of mayors
And government officials
For example to create a vacuum
Then we fill that vacuum
As popular war advances
Peace is closer" **

I don't need your civil war
It feeds the rich while it buries the poor
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
And I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
I don't need your civil war
Your power hungry sellin' soldiers
In a human grocery store
Ain't that fresh
I don't need your civil war
I don't need one more war

I don't need one more war
Whaz so civil 'bout war anyway

I especially like the lyrics to this Death Cab for Cutie song (New Year):

so this is the new year.
and i don't feel any different.
the clanking of crystal
explosions off in the distance (in the distance).

so this is the new year
and I have no resolutions
for self assigned penance
for problems with easy solutions

so everybody put your best suit or dress on
let's make believe that we are wealthy for just this once
lighting firecrackers off on the front lawn
as thirty dialogues bleed into one

i wish the world was flat like the old days
then i could travel just by folding a map
no more airplanes, or speedtrains, or freeways
there'd be no distance that can hold us back.

I also LOVE the lyrics to Led Zeppelins BEST SONG EVER Thank You:

If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you.
When mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

Kind woman, I give you my all, Kind woman, nothing more.

Little drops of rain whisper of the pain, tears of loves lost in the days gone by.
My love is strong, with you there is no wrong,
together we shall go until we die. My, my, my.
An inspiration is what you are to me, inspiration, look... see.

And so today, my world it smiles, your hand in mine, we walk the miles,
Thanks to you it will be done, for you to me are the only one.
Happiness, no more to be said, happiness....I'm glad.
If the sun refused to shine, I would still be loving you
Mountains crumble to the sea, there will still be you and me.

A few more...

Idlewild - Live in a Hiding Place
You're full of facts but not things that could
Add up to words
Think about meaning more as an after word
As in afterward.

Idlewild - American English
And you came along and found the weak spot,
but you’ve always wanted
And let yourself be everything, that you’ve always wanted
It doesn’t have to be so decided, you’ve always wanted
And no need for explanations, that you’ve always wanted

You’ll find what you find when you find there’s nothing
And you’ll find what you find when you find there’s nothing

Jimmy Eat World - If You Don't, Don't

What’s wrong baby, don’t they treat you like they should?
Did you take ’em for it?
Every penny that you could?
We once walked out on the beach and once I almost touched your hand.
Oh how I dreamed to finally say such things then only to pretend.

Don’t you know I’m thinkin’, drivin’ 405 past midnight.
You know I miss you.
Don’t you know that I miss you?
Ninth and Ash on a Tuesday night.

I would write to you from a museum mile, toast to you:
your whisper, your smile.
Up the stairs at the Weatherford, a ghost each place I hide.

If you don’t don't know, why would you say so?
Would you mean this please if it happens?
If you don’t know, why would you say so?
Won’t you get your story straight.

If you don’t know, honey, why'd you just say so?
Cos I need this now more than I ever did.
If you don’t well, honey, then you don’t.

I left you waiting, at the least could we be friends?
Should have never started, ain’t that the way it always ends?

On my life I'll try today, there’s so much I've felt I should say, but.
Even if your heart would listen, doubt I could explain.

If you don't don't know, why'd you say so?
Would you mean this please if it happens?
If you don’t know, why would you say so?
Won’t you get your story straight.

If you don’t know, honey, why'd you just say so?
Cause I need this now more than I ever did.
If you don’t well, honey, then you don’t.

So here we are now, a sip of wine a sip of water.
Someday maybe, maybe someday we’ll be smarter.
And I’m sorry that I’m such a mess, I drank all my money could get and,
took everything you let me have and then I never loved you back.

If you don’t don't know, why would you say so?
Would you mean this please if it happens?
If you don’t know, why would you say so?
Won’t you get your story straight?

If you don’t know, honey, why'd you just say so?
Cause I need this now yeah need this, need this.
If you don’t well, honey, then you don’t
And if you don’t well, honey, then you don’t
If you don’t know, honey, honey, then you don’t

At the moment these very emo lyrics mean a lot to me:

When I'm lying in your bed play the motions through my head
you know that I'm thinking, I'm thinking...
and I have reasons to believe that I'm not the only
one you spend this time with, but I'll stay...

[Chorus]
You say it you're weak,
you wont let me down [x2]
you lie through your teeth
you smile in your sleep [x2]

When we met you said we were the same, you know
that we're different, we're different,
and all the times you promised me that everything would
work out in the end, you were gravely mistaken

[Chorus]

You lie [x4], you lie through your teeth
you wont let me down, you lie
I deserve better than this

I dream of steel, maroon and warm, your end(x4), you gasp for air, i'll see this through, i'll see through you, your pale(x4), your pale blue eyes

when you're lying in your bed, your eulogies been read
you know that it's fitting, you lie

[Chorus]

You smiled [x4] I deserve better than this

Emo lyrics f.t.w

The dawn is breaking
A light shining through
You're barely waking
And I'm tangled up in you
Yeah

I'm open, you're closed
Where I follow, you'll go
I worry I won't see your face
Light up again

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to rhyme
Out of the doubt that fills my mind
I somehow find
You and I collide

I'm quiet you know
You make a first impression
I've found I'm scared to know I'm always on your mind

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the stars refuse to shine
Out of the back you fall in time
I somehow find
You and I collide

Even the best fall down sometimes
Even the wrong words seem to ryhme
Out of the doubt that fills your mind
You finally find
You and I collide

The ghost of Belle Starr she hands down her wits
To Jezebel the nun she violently knits
A bald wig for Jack the Ripper who sits
At the head of the chamber of commerce.

I always thought the start of Float On by Modest Mouse was a great set of lyrics:

I backed my car into a cop car the other day.
Well he just drove off, sometimes life's OK.
I ran my mouth off a bit too much, oh what did I say?
Well you just laughed it off, it was all OK.

earthtone9 - Grind And Click

Grind and click
Grind and click
Grind and click
Grind and click
The bomb goes off
With a grind and a
Click, no flick of
The switch, but
With a knife to the wrist
Blows my mind every time
Blows my mind every time

ROFL. Sorry but... that actually made me 'lol'.

For some reason I find this particuarly deep, but it'll read rubbish!

Radiohead - Fitter Happier
Fitter, happier, more productive,
comfortable,
not drinking too much,
regular exercise at the gym
(3 days a week),
getting on better with your associate employee contemporaries ,
at ease,
eating well
(no more microwave dinners and saturated fats),
a patient better driver,
a safer car
(baby smiling in back seat),
sleeping well
(no bad dreams),
no paranoia,
careful to all animals
(never washing spiders down the plughole),
keep in contact with old friends
(enjoy a drink now and then),
will frequently check credit at
(moral) bank (hole in the wall),
favors for favors,
fond but not in love,
charity standing orders,
on Sundays ring road supermarket
(no killing moths or putting boiling water on the ants),
car wash
(also on Sundays),
no longer afraid of the dark or midday shadows
nothing so ridiculously teenage and desperate,
nothing so childish - at a better pace,
slower and more calculated,
no chance of escape,
now self-employed,
concerned (but powerless),
an empowered and informed member of society
(pragmatism not idealism),
will not cry in public,
less chance of illness,
tires that grip in the wet
(shot of baby strapped in back seat),
a good memory,
still cries at a good film,
still kisses with saliva,
no longer empty and frantic
like a cat
tied to a stick,
that's driven into
frozen winter ****
(the ability to laugh at needless harm),
calm,
fitter,
healthier and more productive
a pig
in a cage
on antibiotics.

grandmaster flash > *

serious message in a fun way ?

Ticket to ride, white line highway
Tell all your friends, they can go my way
Pay your toll, sell your soul
Pound for pound costs more than gold
The longer you stay, the more you pay
My white lines go a long way
Either up your nose or through your vein
With nothin to gain except killin’ your brain.......

A street kid gets arrested, gonna do some time
He got out three years from now just to commit more crime
A businessman is caught with 24 kilos
He’s out on bail and out of jail
And that’s the way it goes
rahh............

Little Jack Horner sitting on the corner
With no shoes and clothes
This aint funny, but he took his money
And sniffed it up his nose........

Slayer - New faith

"I won't be force fed prophecies from the book of untruths for the weakened mind"

In flames - My sweet shadow

"I'm selling heavenly sketches, a world out of my mind. Ready to explode in purity, to fill the holes inside"

Those 2 lyrics have been stuck in my head all day :(

My favourite song of all time,

NiN - And All that could Hve been.

breeze still carries the sound
maybe i'll disappear
tracks will fade in the snow
you won't find me here

ice is starting to form
ending what had begun
i am locked in my head
with what i've done
i know you tried to rescue me
didn't let anyone get in
left with a trace of all that was
and all that could have been

please
take this
and run far away
far away from me
i am
tainted
the two of us
were never meant to be
all these
pieces
and promises and left behinds
if only i could see
in my
nothing
you meant everything
everything to me

gone fading everything
and all that could have been
could have been

please
take this
and run far away
far as you can see
i am
tainted
and happiness and peace of mind
were never meant for me
all these
pieces
and promises and left behinds
if only i could see
in my
nothing
you meant everything
everything to me

HELL IS FOR HEROES - TRANSMIT DISRUPT

surrounded by a faceless crowd
an operational decline, system closure
abondoned aerials all around
scrambling pictures crackling sounds, failing senses
communication cutting out
the airwaves must be breaking down
intercepted. call disrupted

dissection starts with just a cut
another specimen prepared
for incision
the surgeon brandisheS the knife
he whispers 'this won't hurt a bit'
maybe a little, it's just procedure

first step through the door
and I've been here once before
back then in control
held tight in my hands
and I threw it all away
to glimpse the other side
eyes sunk in my head
hesitation will be death
push back kick it out

bring down the satellite

THURSDAY - UNDERSTANDING IN A CAR CRASH

Splintered piece of glass falls in the seat and gets caught
These broken windows, open locks, reminders of the youth we lost
In trying so hard to look away from you
We followed white lines to the sunset
I crash my car everyday the same way

Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time runs through our veins
(it starts and stops and starts and stops again)
We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)

Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twlight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done

I dont want to feel this way forever
A dead letter marked return to sender

Broken watch you gave me turns into compass
It's two hands still point to the same time 12:03, our last goodbye

So push the seats back a little further
I can see the headlights coming
So push the seats back a little further
Roll the windows down and take a breath
I can see the headlights coming
They paint the world in red and broken glass

Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time runs through our veins
(it starts and stops and starts and stops again)
We don't stand a chance in this threadbare time
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)
Time to let this pass
(the time it takes, the time it takes to let go)

Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twlight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done

I dont want to feel this way forever
A dead letter marked return to sender

The spinning hubcaps set the tempo for the music of a broken window
With the cameras on the cameras click
We open up the lens and can't stop

Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twlight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done

I dont want to feel this way forever

when the lights are on the cameras click
we open up the lens to broken glass
(and it's over in a flash)

Staring at the setting sun
No reason to come back again
The twlight world in blue and white
The needle and the damage done

I don't want to feel this way forever
a dead letter marked return to sender

(I'll never understand,
Understanding in a car crash)

In a crash

Robert Miles Lyrics - One and One Lyrics

The sky isn't always blue
The sun doesn't always shine
It's alright to fall apart sometimes, mmm
I am not always you
And you are not always mine
It's alright to fall apart sometimes

Chorus:

After all is said and done
One and one still is one
When we cry, when we laugh
I am half, you are half

The heart isn't always true
And I am not always fine
We all have an angry heart sometimes

(Repeat Chorus)

Look how far we have come
One and one still is

One moon (one moon)
One star (one star)
I love the one we are
One thread (one thread)
One line (one line)
Let's stand still in time

One moon (one moon)
One star (one star)
I love the one we are
One thread (one thread)
One line (one line)
That runs through our lives

(Repeat Chorus)

Look how far we have come
One and one still is one ah
Ooh

I really like Say Goodnight, Not Goodbye by Chantal Kreviazuk

Say goodnight, not goodbye
You will never leave my heart behind
Like the path, of a star
I'll be anywhere you are

In the sparke that lies beneath the coals
In the secret place inside your soul
Keep my life, in your eyes
Say goodnight , not goodbye

Don't you fear, when you dream
Waking up is never what it seem
Like a jewel buried deep
Like a promise meant to keep

You are everything you ought to be
So just let your heart reach out to me
I'll be right, by your side
Say goodnight, not goodbye

MUSIC BREAK

You are everything you ought to be
So just let your heart reach out to me
Keep my life, in your eyes
Say goodnight, not goodbye

Say goodnight, not goodbye
