Hi folks,

Please, please spread this around to other British forums and to Facebook.

Today, 12 August, 2010, Larry Murphy, a rapist and suspected serial killer, was released from a prison in Central Dublin, and may now be heading to Britain.

He was released today after only 10 years for multiple rape and attempted murder.

Believe me when I say that there is a witch-hunt in Ireland for him at the moment.

For that reason, he will most probably travel to Britain. He applied for a passport in prison before his release, and is now legally allowed to leave the Republic.

Why he is dangerous..

In 2000, he pleaded guilty to the rape and attempted murder of a woman from Carlow, Ireland.

The Gardaí (Irish police) believe that this was not Murphy’s only attack.

He is also the prime suspect in the murders of Deirdre Jacob, Jo Jo Dullard and Annie McCarrick.

Nine women disappeared around Leinster in the 18 months prior to Murphy’s arrest and are believed to have been murdered.

Since Murphy was jailed, the disappearances have ceased.

FBI agents who came to Ireland identified Larry Murphy as very likely the killer of Irish American student Annie McCarrick and other missing young women.

Here is the full story:

Larry Murphy has just been released after serving 10-and-a-half-years for rape and attempted murder. Gardai are worried. Here’s why.

By Robert Carry

Back in 2000, Murphy pounced on an unnamed business woman in her mid-20s as she made her way through a secluded car park in Carlow, carrying her day’s takings of around €700.

Murphy demanded she hand over the cash before hitting her in the face – breaking her nose and causing her to fall backwards into her car.

The stunned victim was ordered to take off her bra which Murphy then used to bind her hands. Murphy drove the woman’s car to a laneway where he had parked his Fiat Uno. He transferred his victim to his car, forcing her into the passenger footwell, before driving to a secluded spot near Moone where he brutally raped her.

After the attack, Murphy began conversing with his victim and revealed much of his personal information. Gardai have since concluded that he was happy to do so because he intended to murder the woman. He told the victim he was going to take her back to Carlow and let her go, before pushing her into the boot and heading instead for the Wicklow Mountains.

Plastic bag

The car came to a halt in a wooded area close to Murphy’s home in Baltinglass where he raped the woman repeatedly. Finally, with her hands bound behind her back, he put a plastic bag over her head and started strangling her.

Despite the fact that Murphy was carrying out his sickening attack in one of the most isolated parts of Leinster, two local men out lamping deer caught him and his victim in their headlights. Murphy ran to his car and drove away.

The men brought the terrorised woman, who was badly traumatised and injured from running into a barbed wire while attempting to escape, to Baltinglass Garda Station. From there she was taken to Carlow Hospital.

Murphy fled the scene and dumped his car before going home and getting into bed. The two men, however, had recognised him.

Murphy, now 45-years-old, refused to make a statement to gardaí after his arrest. He later pleaded guilty to charges of rape, attempted murder and abduction and was sentenced to 14 years in Arbour Hill prison.

Gardai fear, however, that this was not Murphy’s only attack. He is also the prime suspect in the murders of Deirdre Jacob, Jo Jo Dullard and Annie McCarrick. In fact, nine women disappeared around Leinster in the 18 months prior to Murphy’s arrest and are believed to have been murdered. Since Murphy was jailed, the disappearances have ceased.

Gardai have admitted that they are unable to watch Murphy around the clock now that he has been released. They have, however, said they believe he is the single biggest threat to the lives of young women in Ireland.

what? I would have thought cigarettes, booze drugs and posibly heart disease/cancer would be a bigger threat to the lives of young women.
