Finding the mouse - how to make the throb more visible on pressing Ctrl

With three high resolution screens it's easy to lose the mouse. I have 'Show Location of pointer when I press the CTRL key' enabled in the Mouse properties, Poinyter Options tab but it can still take me several tries. The circles just aren't very visible on an active and large screen space.

Are there add-ons to improve this?

Old skool, but can you enable mouse trails
