Beautiful day to be stuck in working in front of screen! So out I went for a walk with me Sigma 105 & Canon 20D. Its safe to say that I am not a flowers photographer but I would like your opinions on these I shot today.

    Hope you enjoy them.

Some nice shots there, but #5 really rawks :D

I think that #4 works better than #1

An interesting aside... I've seen some really interesting (and IMO, great) flower shots from superwides (groups of flowers, obv.)

    Nice bold, vibrant colours.
The borders are too thick though in my opinion

Think the borders are a bit thick though.

    Thanks guys.

I actually think 1 works better than 4 but interesting :p

5 was captured with the meaning of capturing love so thanks :)

I was unsure about the colours and boldness but you all seem to agree on it.

The borders are to show how they would appear when printed but fair play they might seem abit large for internet viewing. Will downsize them.
    Borders now fixed :)

I'm with you Johnny, I think 1 works better than 4, and like the others, 5 for the win!

    Nice photos.

I like some of the compositions but personally I dont think the high contrast dark processing really works for these.

Not to say they arent good pictures - just I feel they would be better brighter and more detailed

I realise that, but the borders still look naff, there's no need for them. Down with borders!
