Well, there always has to be one of these posts in such a thread. Yeah, Filezilla's excellent for Windows, gFTP for Linux.

I'll GUI you in a minute.

Of course I meant it like that. Everyone knows Augmented loves a bit of GUI.

I used smartftp a lot but found it went a bit weird on long uploads with lots of files, so switched to filezilla and had no problems.

tried both smartftp and filezilla... on the whole filezilla seems much more reliable.
smartftp was returning errors, for the exact same thing that was fine in filezilla.

filezilla = win0r!! :D
