Fruit Smoothies & Protein Shakes - not together?

Hey,

I am sure I remember reading somewhere that when you have protein shakes you should not mix them with fruit as its not good for the proteins (I assumes acids or something) however I always chuck a scoop or two in with a homemade fruit smoothie each morning.

Is this a bad idea? Should I separate them?

No, mix them all you like. :)

The only time you shouldn't mix it with anything is post-training. You want the protein to enter your system as quickly and efficiently as possible. Best method for that is by just using water.

Vitamins in fruit can only be good for you. I can't see any good reason why they would be anything else.

Banana + peanut butter + milk = health calories :)

Yeah I know I am not disputing the awesomeness of fruit - I just remember reading that fruit (especially citrus) was not a good mix with protein whey.

Well now I know better!

I think peanut butter + Whey + Chocolate Milkshake powder sounds good!
