Hi guys,

I have a spare msi 2080ti ventus gpu atm, I was just wondering if some of you kind people could spec me the components I need for a high (ish) end gaming rig. I'd like it to be somewhat future proof so I could upgrade components as and when in the near future if possible. I have around £1.5k -2k (max) to spend.

Many thanks

Do you play Flight Sim ?

What's your monitor Res and Hz ?

Both Intel and AMD have one CPU left on current socket . Both Zen 3 and intel 11th bring bigger changes over current. Specially intel

If you've got the cash, Aorus Master X570 or Aorus Master B550 boards are the best out there . £270-350 though . And better RMA then MSI . Toma is good value

I can't thank you enough for taking the time to configure some specs for me :) I think I'll go down the AMD route, and like you've said get the aorus master x570.

Case wise....the corsair 400d is out of stock, any other recommendations?

So far in basket comes to 1376.01 (without case but with the x570) so something similar price to the 400d would be perfect.

Thanks once again, its greatly appreciated :)

If you're going down the AMD route I'd wait until the 8th comes and goes!

Would you recommend going down the AMD route rather than intel? I don't mind waiting for the 8th for the zen 3 if its advisable, but can just as easy go down the intel route which orbitalwash spec'd.

thanks :)

October isn't to long. Hopefully it's not a paper launch .... Stating the GPU won't be but nothing has been said if Zen3 will be in stores ... X670 boards would have been leaked by now

Dynamic is a good case !

Cooler won't fit. Meant for AIO.

Cooler comes with paste, win 10 you can get a key for £10 then download win10 put on a usb drive and install.

3900x can be had for £400.

Would you opt for the 3900x over the i9 10900k performance wise? I dont mind the price of either as it falls at the 1.5k mark but would rather have the best quality/performance wise

I try and get the best value for money so I would lean towards the 3900x especially for £400.

10850k is similar performance but less money.

Gaming intel are still on top but but at 4k is more gpu bound, take a look at this article its with a 3080.

How Much CPU Does the GeForce RTX 3080 Need?

Need to add another120mm fan for the rear exhaust CORSAIR SP120 RGB
