Ok my mate has a Sony R model DCR-TRV9E and we took loads of videos of a ski trip we have just been on and we want to put all the videos and pictures onto a DVD how do you get the videos onto a computer considering the camcorder uses mini tapes instead of memory cards. Thanks guys im a noob when it comes to video technology.
The only method of doing this would be to hook up your camcorder to your vivo card or tv card as you can then record the video. I just run our camcorder into the vcr, then the vcr into the pc since ours uses the little tapes.
Have I got a link as to where you will be able to buy a firewire cable? Any PC shop for a fiver or heres the card and cable.HERE
Ok i only need the cable got firewire in my laptop. Also will i need special software and drivers to do this?
Yes , for best results , you'll need a firewire card and cable ,if you have a PC ,or just the cable if your using your lappy.I bought my firewire card from *bay , not expensive and does the job well .For software I mainly use Pinicle 9 , this is excellent software that will allow you to capture as well as edit with really good results , then write directly to a DVD.I have never had any problems with version 9 , some have with later versions.
