Hi guys, ive got a problems that well and truely got me hacked off. Basically, when i click on My Computer to load up all the drives etc, i just get that searching torch, and its stay there.

No idea how ive done it, and it worked fine last time i used it about an hour ago. Anyone got any ideas what i can do to try and sort it? It not a new install, infact i need to reformat ideally.

Formating it would cure it yes, but that wont tell you what the problem is.

The torch is showiong, ironically that it is looking for something. Perhaps you have a network mapped drive that it is trying to sync with or re-connect. Maybe your CD/DVD drive has got a scratched disk in it, who knows!

Tell us what you would expect to see, eg.

    Floppy disk drive A:
    Local disk C:, D:, etc
    1x DVD Drive - empty/in use
3x mapped network drives to my l3370r server upstairs

    etc etc...

Im confused now, just turned my PC on and its fine. Definately in need of a format probably.

Ive got no network drives, just a zip drive, floppy drive, HDD and 2 cd drives. Ill format at some point, me thinks it needs it.
