Gigabyte GA965P-DS4 problem?

Hi

I've come in to work this morning and my machine is borked - the machine was "off" but the hdd and power lights were flashing very rapidly, and when I looked inside the case, the cpu fan was spinning and the psu leds were flashing at approximately the same frequency as the leds on the front panel.

My immediate thought was that it was a problem with the psu, but after liberating one from a colleague's machine (serves him right for being off sick) and swapping it out, the same problem occurred.

The machine makes no noise on power on, so I suppose that discounts RAM/GFX/CPU problems, and assume it must be the board that's broken.

Does anyone have any ideas on what to try before I splash out on a new board?

Specs are:

Conroe E6600 @ Stock on stock HSF
Gigabyte GA965P-DS4
2Gb OCZ Ram
74Gb Raptor
200Gb Samsung
ATI X1300
OCZ Modstream 450w PSU

Cheers :)

Try and take off all hardware not needed to get it to post.
You only need PSU, MOBO, CPU and some RAM
If you don't get a POST beep then it's down to substitution of the bits excluding PSU which you have done till u do.

I think the board's totally dead - I ordered a replacement yesterday, so I'll swap it out today when it arrives (makes a change from coding at least!).

I'm just keeping my fingers crossed that it isnt the conroe that's melted :/
