The True keeps my Q9550 at 3.71GHz at 33-40 idle (stock volts) depending on if I have heating on in the room or not and 55 under load - I feel that is impressive especially considering my CPU and system fan speeds are all at 50% at all times for ultra quietness.

I use an Akasa LED fan on the True and use AS5 paste.

The 1000 rpm models would be a good choice, id only consider the 2000 rpm variant if youve got a fan controller, theyre a bit loud at full speed but they certainly cool well.

I didnt rate the apaches myself , tried them on my noctua and my H50 in push pull and didnt see any decrease in temps

As opposed to what?

From what i gather they're very similar performance/noise to the Noctua NF P-12 but cheaper - they won't give you Delta type air

Core i7 920 OC'd to 3.4GHz with Cogage and bolt-thru kit:

(Ambient between 19c and 22c for 3 rounds of stress testing last night and this morning. Each test was 1hour of prime, then intel burn set to 16 threads and max stress level.)

Idle:
Cores range from 35c-40c

Load:
Peaked at 60c

Nothing wrong with this cooler imo and well worth £28. (well, £37 including the bolt-thru.)

Nice, I idle around 40 @ 3.8, without the boltkit and cable management so i'd expect a few degrees drop when I get both of them sorted!

What vcore do you run at 3.8?

I'm having a bit of bother stabilising at 3.8, but 3.6 seems good so far.....
