I don't see any point in going with Haswell unless the processors are significantly cheaper and DDR4 prices seem reasonable now. That and it's a small build, so Skylake should be a little better for this.
Bit frustrating to pay £110 for a motherboard, but there doesn't seem to be many other choices out there right now (and wifi may be useful).
8GB is fine as it's just sitting under the TV playing games and I can possibly put more in in a few years if I need it. Likewise, I was thinking of just going with an SSD as with have external HDDs/USB etc with all of our media.
I'll go with a GTX 970 as I'm playing at 1080p and that will pretty much max out everything at 1080p
I can't see anything obvious I can change out to make the build better/cheaper as a lot of the stuff I'm putting in seem pretty standard, but does anybody have any ideas? Probably not pulling the trigger for another month or two, so plenty of time for research!
