GPU or Monitor

    Should i get a clearance section 7800GT or save and get a
    Viewsonic VX2235wm 22" Widescreen LCD Monitor - Black (MO-060-VS) ?
    I have an FX55, Epox 9NPA+SLI, leadtek 7800GT, 2 Gb or Geil value ram and X-Fi platinum. Monitor is a Viewsonic VP171B2 :confused:

    I gam, make mp3 and surf. Games, FPS and sims.

    I'd say that SLi 7800gts would be wasted on a 17" monitor but then I don't know quite how well a single 7800gt would cope with a 22" monitor at high resolutions. I'd probably buy the monitor and if necessary tone down the settings.

    I've never been one for the AA AF filtering, I always start with a high res no extras then up the detail levels as i tweak it, if i find the graphics card isn't able to cope from the get go.

    Ideally, you'd get both at the same time, but if that's not possible, get the monitor first, then the new card as soon as possible. You can turn a few settings down in the meantime.

    Just had a look at that monitor - it looks pretty good for the price, but not available for another month :(

    at high resolutions you dont need as much AA anyway, so i would say the monitor and just wait for the next gen cards maybe...

    Or the 1900XT/7900GTx's to come down in price a bit more. :p
    Meant to be saving for a mortgage. :confused:
