GTA San Andreas Multiplayer Guide - By Zacko After seeing the many threads asking for help/info on San Andreas multiplayer mods I decided to create a fairly simple mini thread detailing the different mods and offering help etc. If you need any more help feel free to add me on Xfire and please add some feedback or suggest some other mods to add (Zacko1337) Note - Screens are from official websites. The Mods ________________________________________________ \\GTAT (Grand Thieves Online) - http://gtat.org/ // The first of the multiplayer mods released for San Andreas and thus fairly unstable. Worth checking out if you want a lot of people online at once though. Pros + Choose one of 268 Skins Support for up to 96 players Shops/pay and sprays etc all work Ability to spawn vehicles Cons - Reported to be buggy Sync is not too good Small community compared to other games. Screens And Media (From"m4x0r") __________________________________________________ \\San Andreas Multiplayer - http://sa-mp.com/blog.php/ //The Successor to the highly popular Vice City Multiplayer SAMP offers open ended gametypes and scope for complex scripting. Pros + Unbeatable sync on players and cars Almost any gamemode is possible Experienced team Restaurants, shops and modding all included Cons - Although gamemodes are possible it's not easy for someone new to make one quickly. Early days so not everything is done. Screens And Media More @ http://sa-mp.com/media.php ________________________________________ \\GTA Rumble - http://gtarumble.co.uk/ // The "underdog" of the mods, GTARumble combines great features and and a solid dev team. Pros + Selectable skins Admin scripting Solid community Drive bys etc Cons - Not as big as other mods. Small number of servers. Screens And Media _____________________________________________________________ \\Multi Theft Auto San Andreas - http://www.mtasa.com/ // The racing and soon to be deathmatch mod has roots dating back to GTA 3 and thus a strong community. Pros + Strong community Very easy map editor Stable server browser Cons - 25FPS cap on races (Some people say it should be 30-25) Lag possible at start of races. Screens And Media ________________________________________ F.A.Q What Do I Need?A legal copy of Grand Theft Auto San Andreas Internet/LAN connection (256K+ recommended) I have a 1.1 version of San Andreas and need 1.0 A fairly common problem with Multi Theft Auto San Andreas is people with the 1.1 version of the game need 1.0 to play and thus can't. To fix this you can EITHER reinstall your game (presuming you downloaded it and didn't buy a newew version with the patch on) or download this simple workaround that changes your SA .exe - Link Will these modifications slow my computer down? On the whole no. These modifications generally don't affect your San Andreas files and by todays standards of computers you shouldnt notice your computer being slowed down even if they did. Why does MTA feel "slow"? It feels slow because it has a cap of 25FPS, this is too stop people with better computers from driving faster and thus winning races easier. My ping is 150+! This is probably because your going on a server located outside of your country, for example a server in Australia is going to give you a higher ping that one down the road. Try finding a server closer to you or cancelling any network hogs like downloads. So Where Can I Download Them? GTAT - http://tinyurl.com/cog8v SAMP - http://sa-mp.com/download.php GTARumble - http://www.gtarumble.co.uk/forum/index.php?download=1 MTASA - http://light.mtavc.com/download.php?m=11&t=3 Which One Shall I Choose Then? It all depends on what gamemode your after, if you want racing with ease of map creation get MTA, if you want something a little more freeform get Rumble or GTAT, if you looking for something that could be big with great sync consider SAMP. Something else. Try looking at the readme or documentation pages of the mods website for any questions related to it specifically.
How do i download San Andreas Multiplayer? On the website it says "check back later" on the downloads section. Im presuming its just not finished yet? EDIT: I presumed correctly, though it looks like it should be released soon
I'm going to go ahead and say MTA if you find a good server and nice maps with some cool players. GTA Rumble has improved dramatically now and it's pretty much like SAMP without the sync. Either way your a winner
How do i access the console/talk in gta rumble? i can toggle the chat box, but i can never type in it
