    looking forward to this

Developer SimBin and publisher 10TACLE STUDIOS today announced GTR 2, the successor to the award-winning racing simulation. The game will be released in the summer of 2006.

Come summer 2006, GTR 2 will set new standards all over again! The new DirectX9 graphics engine ensures that the race cars and circuits are portrayed in a more detailed and photorealistic way than ever before, and the sensation of speed experienced with the HP-beasts is even more immersive, thanks to the improved driving model.

The dynamic day-night light cycle, weather changes, and impressive damage system once again provides an impressive experience of the exciting FIA GT racing series on your PC at home.

    Looks awesome.

I just hope that this time they use a decent copy protection method which doesn't result in me returning it to the store.

Looks quite nice, but not a massive improvement graphically. Hopefully an improved more efficent engine, and similar / better sim mode, should be again another cracker of a game.

It was multiplayer that killed it for me, it just didnt work at all. Real shame as it was quite nice to drive.

    That looks ACE!

All you need is a projector, a powerful surround sound system and a steering wheel/pedals and you'd feel like a real racing driver :D

Looks like to me they are using the GTL engine nad have used higher grade textures on the cars. Looks like thats going to really clog you up if you only have a 128 meg card.
