Does anyone know for sure how much the full F1 licence costs? I've seen around the $6m mark, which if anywhere near true makes the idea of paying £5m just for Hamilton more than a little silly. This is obviously based on the Mr Men theory that the F1 licence = individual image rights.

Hamilton is the biggest star to come out of this country since Wayne Rooney, his image as a black Formula 1 driver, a talented kid, and an absolute money making machine (just look at Tiger Woods).
His image alone is worth an absolute fortune, but on top of getting his face on the front of the box, it will include TV adverts and likely a role as a consultant on the creation of whatever game it is.

Of course, but that would mean (going from Mr Men's way of seeing things) it would make more sense to aquire the full F1 licence, then they'd be able to make as much money as they liked off any driver they wanted, not just Hamilton.
