Recently I've been thinking of getting a new car, I've never been that into cars, so aren't sure about which one to get. I would like to sell my current car & pay for the new one with that money plus maybe £1k of my own money.

My current car:- Vauxhall Astra SXI 16V (Black)
    04 plate.
    21000 miles
    Air Con, CD Player, E/W
Minor bodywork damage, but will get that sorted

My first car was a clio & because of some problems I had with it I thought that the next car I got would be nearly new so that it didn't need MOT'ing & it is less likely to go wrong. I now regret this decision & wish I had bought a nice car that was maybe 4-5 years old for the same price.

    Features I would like:-

    Small to mid-size car
    Decent fuel ecnomy (Deisel maybe?)
    Engine Size:- 1.6-2L

I was also looking for something a bit more desirable than an Astra. I do like the look of Civic Type R's & Toyota Celicas - are these any good?

    Cheers
