This is all well and good if you have a 525 bay with the holes to do it this method wouldn't work on any of my cases simply because the holes aren't that great and don't come near the back.

It's worth considering that silverstone bay for £18 comes with 3x ft01/2 style hdd enclosures with good dampening.

This is what i did with some 3mm bungie cord in my FT02.
My Samsung F3 was making a horrible drone even with the rubber gromets on the HDD screws + padding under the case. It was loud enough that people in the next room couldnt sleep with it on :eek:

I left my 2 drives in the hot swap bay thingys and threaded the cord through them.

Quiet as a mouse now :)

I can highly recommend o-ring cord for suspending drives because it doesn't perish like rubber bands.

Here's my effort, using p clips and ~10mm o-ring cord. Not pretty but totally silences the drive and that's what counts!

This is very cool, it reminds me of shock mounts for microphones! :) Spare microphone shock mount rubber bands would be pretty perfect for this!
