    Hi Guys,

I've just added another 1Tb HDD to my build, and am having trouble getting Windows to see it so that it can be formatted. I think the problem may ahve something to do with my Onboard RAID Controller, which uses the first 4 SATA ports when switched on. However I only have a 2 HDD RAID, and have plugged this new drive into port number 3. I am using the Asus Crosshair 3 Motherboard.

Any help with this would be greatly appreciated.

    Kind Regards,
    Bing.

if its not part of the RAID windows may not see it, did your motherboard come with any software for configuring the arrays?

Turns out it wasn't my motherboard or anything like that.

It needed setting up in the Windows Utility where you map the drives, change the drive letters etc. (can't remember the name now!)

Useful to remember if you havn't added a HDD in a while. :)
