I have a PACKARD BELL Maestro 242 DX 24" Widescreen LCD Monitor, which is HD Ready (But no HDMI Port) and a ATI Radeon HD5450 1GB PCI-E Graphics Card which has a HDMI Port, Can i connect the two using a HDMI to DVI-D cable. Will this give me HD quality.

Looking around i have seen people using such a cable on PS3's but not for PC's is it possible? or is this more of a Graphics card forum Question

yeah all you need is a HDMI to DVI-D cable or connector. DVI-D is basically just the video part of HDMI (DVI-D can't do audio too unlike HDMI)
