slow web use could be down to many things, as evident by the range of replies. cpu being hammered by background processes, memory getting full and paging-out, poor net connection, etc.

If you have a gpu at hand, there's certainly no down-side to fitting it and offloading some load from the cpu (plus free up some ram, if it's sharing your 8gb across the onboard gpu and windows). But, for casual web-use it shouldn't be needed - e.g. all the tablets being used for as casual web portals.

It could also be worth loading up Task Manager and checking what's high usage, or low on supply... If that i3 is dual core then anything taking up 50% cpu is effectively hogging a core. Also see how much ram is being used (or, more like, how much is actually free).

Finally... it could be bloatware from poor anti-virus, old software, etc. No harm doing a scan with Avast and a windows update.
