Hello,

I'm looking to spec a full new system, so i thought i should start with the motherboard.
You all seem very knowledgable so i thought i'd ask for some assistance

My requirements:

I would prefer to use an Athlon-compatible board over Intel.

The motherboard needs to be the most future-proofed part of the system so something with everything i will need for a while.

I would feel silly paying more than £100 for a board, unless theres a particular reason that makes it worthwhile.

The system will be used for gaming mostly, along with online/basic office work

I have no interest in overclocking/modifying from stock

please, spec away!

If you are not overclocking then get the cheapest board that you can find with the features you need.

I you need firewire multiple USB ports etc...

But as you are not buying straightaway it seems you might as well wait for socket AM2 to arrive an go from there.
