Help with memory selection for new build

Hi all,

I'm building a high-end gaming rig from scratch, no plans to OC initially, but may do so in future.

I've been out of the PC-building game for about 15 years, so fogive the ignorance.

Planning on:

CPU: Ryzen 3600 to get the system up and running, but will upgrade to Zen3 shortly
Mobo: MSI X570 Tomahawk
GPU: RTX 3090
Memory: ???

Questions:

I'm looking for 32Gb of 4,000Mhz(??) memory... is that wise given Zen3 is likely to benefit from > 3,600mhz RAM? Is there likely any value from going higher?

Why is the Corsair memory so much pricier than, say, the 8Pack[url] stuff?[/url]

Patriot viper is probably the stuff you require, search for the 4000 ish kits they do, they are a lot cheaper than corsair.
The other choice is gskill but then you are on the pricier side

Tbh yes, there are different memory types such as micro e die and Samsung b die. But they all use the same type depending on the speed and timings.

This stuff is a good option for zen 2 and will likely overclock to 4000+ if the need arises with zen 3.

It's also Samsung B-die and quite a bit cheaper.

My basket at Overclockers UK:

1 x Team Group 8Pack Edition 32GB (2x16GB) DDR4 PC4-28800C16 3600MHz Dual Channel Kit= £209.99

Total: £218.69 (includes shipping: £8.70)

For reference my team group 3200/14 kit will overclock to 4400 so 4000 on this shouldn't be an issue.
