Are you sure its the cards & not your power supply or something else?

If its deffo the card then maybe go for this as it allready has all 16 pipes unlocked (& is essentially an X800XL).
    PowerColor ATI Radeon X800 GTO16 256MB GDDR3 TV-Out/DVI (PCI-Express) - Retail (GX-055-PC) Available This Week Only for just £109.95 + VAT.

PS. i have a Sapphire GTO2 (16 pipes) & no problems at all & many on this forum have same card & also have had no problems.

I don't think its the psu....i have 12.23 volts in the 12v rail and the connector to the card has 1 12v line and 2 ground lines. And the GTO2 already came with 16pp.

Could it be that the card was unlocked and damaged and then sent back and you've bought a fubar card. Was it seeled when you got it?
