Cheers guys, been wanting to buy a 7900GT, but so many of them are being RMA that I'm now going down the ATI route

Yep, will defintely keep you going untill the next couple of rounds of DX10 cards come out (& DX10 games too). Bargain price too.Lewcifer said:Indeed they look it. I'll be replacing my 7800GTX with one, which should tide me over until DX10's worth shelling out for.
kbc said:But I'm still happy with my Sapphire X1900XT @ £250 including VAT and delivery. Even if it is slightly noisier.
HicRic said:For a moment I thought you meant it was £219 inc. VAT, I nearly wet myself. £258 is still great, that's about £12 off what it was a couple of days ago I think?
freddib said:as you know i ordered mine on monday evening so im more peed off
mine is running at 45c idle 65c load after 1hr of oblivion in ultra high 1280x1024 ... just got to get hdr&aa working
i should add ive got a desktop fan on by my open case as well !
did you notice the side of the box ? i thought they had sent me the turbo edition until i read the vey tiny "optional" in front of turbo
are you using the 6.6 cats ? the control panel kept causing an illegal operation
for me and i was stuck at 60hz on any res, im now using omega drivers (cat6.5).... these dont come with the wdm driver, i had to get the 6.5wdm driver from ati
Lewcifer said:Ah, well it'll be £219 for me but I'll stop mentioning that now...
It was £229 ex VAT a few days ago alright.
Lewcifer said:Ahhh wait now, I've just seen the X1950's due for release in early August..maybe I should hang on til then to make a decision. But it's such a long time to not play Oblivion..
sugoi said:I didn't actually notice the side of the box, but i didn't even touch the CDs which came with the card that was in the box, i just downloaded the latest drivers from the ATI website which is 6.6, and all seems to be running fine - powering 2 monitors as well. My temps right now are idling at 50C and last night playing cs:source for a good 3 hours, the temperature went to 70C max, which is cooler than my 7800GTX which probably would have been another 10C higher i reckon, especially last night being so hot. Also seems to lower the average temperature in my case. i'm very happy that i bought this card.
