Hi I am looking for a decent bench and a set of dummbells

I'd like the bench to be very comfortable and not feel like I am sitting on cardboard

anyone got any suggestions or places to buy from - budget £200

Mirafit do solid equipment

I have this, it's rock solid and comfortable: https://mirafit.co.uk/mirafit-m2-adjustable-weight-bench.html

And a bunch of different sets of these: https://mirafit.co.uk/mirafit-dumbbell-hex-weight-set.html

Might be able to get a set of cheaper dumbbells from somewhere else if you want to use 75% of your budget on the bench.

I've seen on Hotukdeals that the mens health benches are decent for the money although can't speak from personal experience.

Edit: Finally here might help https://www.overclockers.co.uk/forums/threads/official-home-gym-building-thread.18270342/page-130

Thanks have you ever been to virgin active gyms and they have those red benches?

If so, they are padded up really well and I loved them a lot - how does the Mirfit bench compare to that? Is the padding extra thick?

I think getting dumbells from like argos would be better.

Yes I used to be a member at Virgin and have also been a member at Gymetc, this bench is very similar to what you'd get in those sorts of gyms. It's adequately comfortable to do any sort of exercise on, I've never felt it to be uncomfortable.

I was in the same situation as you and have recently bought that bench and have found it just as comfortable as the ones I've used in gyms. It also feels very sturdy too. For that money I doubt you'll find anything better.

For dumbbells I went for the barbell/dumbbell set from Argos just to get me going with the plan to gradually upgrade and add equipment as needed

been mooching about myself, got a new bench and have a wad of old vinyl discs but was wanting some hex dumbbells for various exercises - didn't realise how mad the prices of hex ones were :-/

Sounds like fairly plain sailing! The one blemish against my bench was that one of the metal pieces that accepts a bolt was a little bit bent, so I had to get the pliers out :p

Solid bench though, still like brand new and it's had a fair bit of use.
